PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire nurse is scheduled to plead guilty today to charges she used her position to have a former boyfriend involuntarily committed to a mental ward.
Thirty-year-old Julia Lynch of Rollinsford is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth District Court today on charges of false swearing and tampering with public records at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where she was a nurse. She’s also charged with stalking and false imprisonment. Prosecutors say she filed paperwork with the hospital saying her former boyfriend needed emergency psychiatric help last fall. In response, police took him into custody and brought him to the hospital for an evaluation. He did not need psychiatric care.
Lynch faces similar charges involving a second former boyfriend last spring.
