Understanding Introverts

INTROVERTS ARE NOT MENTALLY ILL

Many of my friends know that when I “drop off the face of the earth” something must be wrong. They also, quite probably, think I’m not the best friend in the world, because I sometimes disappear for months at a time. I go to work, I go home, I function – but I don’t return phone calls, make plans, etc. Some of them love me in spite of this relationship-dooming behavior but others really do get (justifiably) frustrated. To them, I offer this article as an apology. Not that they’re reading my blog, but maybe it will help someone else understand a seemingly reclusive friend.
