This would be funny if it weren’t true. This stay-at-home-mom lactivist blogger received a very serious cease and desist letter from the National Pork Board (i.e. the BIG PIG stomping on the little lactivist) warning her to stop using the slogan, “the other white milk” on a CafePress t-shirt. Of course the Pork Board claimes trademark infringement for their oh-so-clever phrase “the other white meat.” Predictable claim. What takes this from the ridiculous to the sublime is this statement:
“In addition, your use of this slogan also tarnishes the good reputation of the National Pork Board’s mark in light of your apparent attempt to promote the use of breastmilk beyond merely for infant consumption, such as with the following slogans on your website in close proximity to the slogan “The Other White Milk.” “Dairy Diva,” “Nursing, Nature’s Own Breast Enhancement,” “Eat at Mom’s, fast-fresh-from the breast,” and “My Milk is the Breast.”
Jennifer, I’m aghast. Go forth and lactivate…but please, feed your husband pork.
